Welsh Premier Striker Phil Molyneaux from Airbus UK Broughton
Buckley
Town have completed the signing of Welsh Premier Striker Phil
Molyneaux from Airbus Uk Broughton, Molyneaux has spent the last 4
seasons in the WP with Nomads under Nev Powell and Airbus under
Gareth Owen and latterly Craig Harrison.
Molyneaux
has 69 appearances plus 43 from the bench scoring 16 goals in the
process.
"Gareth
has been after Phil all through the Close season and has stayed in
close contact with the player and indeed Craig Harrison at Airbus to
monitor the players situation, I know Phil enjoyed turning out for
us against Newtown recently and I would imagine he like the rest of
us feels like we have a really strong squad for this coming season,
Phil is physically strong and gives our pacy frontline another
dimension, I think Phil completes the Squad in time for Saturday`s
opening fixture v Llandudno Town. I would like to welcome Phil to
Buckley Town and hope he enjoys his time with us, likewise I would
like to wish all the new signings the best of luck for the coming
season, as well as giving Gareth and his Management team as much
support as we can."

performance.”
Bangor City open our new Stand
Buckley Town defeated Bangor City in
a well contested game at Globe Way that saw two penalties missed,
two players sin binned and three very well taken goals.
Chris Sharp also had to miss the
game when he was injured during the warm-up by his team mate.
The
first half was an evenly contested affair that should have seen
Buckley take the lead when Alec Stacey put his spot kick
wide. Both sides had decent chances to take the lead but the half
ended 0-0.
The
second half was as even as the first for the first thirty five
minutes but it was Buckley that managed to take the lead with a well
met Julian Jones header from a right sided corner that gave the keeper no chance.
Bangor were level within minutes when Marc Limbert hit a half volley
from wide left that looped into the far side of the net. Neil Wynne
then outpaced former BTFC player Chris Roberts to stroke his well
placed effort wide of the keeper and into the far corner. Bangor
went up a gear to try and level but failed to do so despite winning
a late penalty that was skewed wide.
Opening of the Globe Way Stand
Buckley Town Chairman Stewart Roberts welcomes Gwyn Pierce Owen (BCFC), Ron Bridges (FAW), Allan Brown (BTFC Vice Chairman) and Councillor Dennis Hutchinson to Globe Way for the opening of our new stand.

Buckley
TownAnnounce New Sponsors
Buckley Town Football Club is pleased to announce a
new Sponsor for the forthcoming 2009-10 Season in the form of
JEWSON, the UK’s leading supplier of timber and building materials.
JEWSON joins the growing list of local Businesses supporting the
Cymru Alliance outfit. JEWSON is a national company with 500
branches nationwide including a local branch in Buckley itself.
Buckley
Town Football Club and Jewson are committed to driving Buckley Town
towards the top tier of Welsh Football and providing regional
businesses with all of their building materials needs. The club and
Jewson look forward to building a lasting business relationship over
the coming seasons, and will share local/regional information and
contacts for the benefit of both organisations.
Chairman
of Buckley Town Stewart Roberts commented:“We are delighted that Jewson have agreed to partner us
this season. With the cessation of our Castle Cement Sponsorship it
was imperative that we maintained local business engagement, Jewson
provide fantastic services for the people of Buckley, Flintshire and
the whole of North Wales. Our aim is to support them in the same way
they have agreed to support us and we see this agreement with Jewson
as the first step in our new Community/Business plan that will

speaking with numerous other interested parties about engaging with
Buckley Town as we look to take the Club and Local Business to the
next level.”
On the

Colwyn Bay
Buckley
Town had a very hard but useful work out against a very slick Colwyn
side, a number of Colwyn Bay players having hundreds of games in the
Football League showing that at whatever level class always shines
through, that said though Buckley Town look very useful themselves
when they keep possession and can penetrate even the best of sides
with pace down either flank and up top.
Bay
scorers were the outstanding Rob Hopely with a powerful header in
the 20th minute, followed by a Julian Jones own goal as Buckley
appealed in vain for an obvious offside.
Half
Time 0-2
A third
goal followed but it was the fourth goal that rounded off a
excellent Bay display when the skilful Lee Davey jinked past no
fewer than 5 players before dispatching past a hapless McIntosh.
A
reminder to all Buckley fans that these games against much higher
opposition has been designed to get them working hard and match
sharp in time for the start of the Cymru Alliance on the 15th
August, a number of players are getting quality match time during
this pre season, and manager Gareth Thomas is able to see what
desire players have to wear the Buckley shirt during these games.

Buckley Town FC 0-4 Colwyn Bay

An additional Friendly is due to be played this week
on Tuesday 21st July v Hawarden Rangers from the Welsh National
League with a 7.30pm Kick Off at Globe Way.
The Mighty 'Cws
This will be followed by the planned friendly with
Welsh Premier League Caersws on Wednesday 22nd July again with a
7.30pm Kick Off when the Buckley Town committee will once again
welcome back Dave `Pixie ` Taylor to Globe Way, with new Caersws
boss Mickey Evans alongside him.
Winsford United
Unfortunately we had to call off Saturdays game against Winsford
United due to the horrendous weather of Thursday and Friday of last
week. The pitch has had further work carried out this summer and
that needed to be protected. However, weather permitting which is a
strange thing to say this time of year, we will get both games on
this week for Gareth to have a final look at players.
With no
game planned this Saturday it is likely that a training session for
the players will take place, with those not required for the forth
coming season having been informed before the weekend. Gareth is
then expected to increase the intensity and competition within the
Squad in the final batch of friendly's leading up to the kick off on
Saturday 15th August v Llandudno at Globe Way.
BTFC
Reserves have their second game on Wednesday night v Denbigh
Reserves at Central Park Denbigh with a 7pm Kick Off.
Welsh Youth Cup Draw
Buckley Town have been drawn away in the
1st Round of the Welsh Youth Cup at Welsh Premier League Caersws FC
with the game due to be played on Sunday 27th September with a 2pm
Kick Off.
Head of Youth Development Paul Dodd will
hope to have the BTFC Youth in good form prior to this fixture with
youngsters forming the majority of this seasons reserve squad.
Further info on the make up of this
Youth side will appear once pre season has been completed at Globe
Way.
BTFC
1 - 3 Airbus UK Broughton
Another decent work out for around 18-20
players for both sides in another entertaining free flowing game at
Globe Way watched by an inquisitive and fair size crowd.
Craig Harrison's men move the ball
around the pitch really well and look to have a very strong squad
for the forthcoming season, however, it was Buckley Town that
created the better chances of an entertaining 1st half. Passing from
both sides was excellent as was the interlink play and movement.
Buckley Town's defence in particular looked strong with Airbus' new
signings Marc Lloyd Williams and Carl Owen being kept quiet during
the first 45 minutes. More trialists featured in both halves of this
game as Manager Gareth Thomas looked to ensure there is enough
quality come the start of the season.
1st Half Line Up: Aaron Kinnear,
Trialist, Julian Jones, Mark Orme, Trialist, Anthony Williams, John
Leonard, Alec Stacey, Dean Hardstaffe, Neil Wynne, Trialist.
The second half again saw a number of
Buckley Town changes and as you would expect the same fluency was
not forthcoming for the first 10 minutes as Airbus started brightly,
again moving the ball around well. Once Buckley adapted to the
changes they quickly made a few openings, one of which resulted in
them taking the lead after great work from one of the impressive
trialists. He fed John Leonard who raced into the box to calmly slot
past Doran in the Airbus goal. After this, Airbus pressure
intensified with Lloyd Williams and Owen becoming more of a handful
as the game wore on. Indeed with a few youngsters in wide areas for
Airbus creating a number of opportunities it was Lloyd Williams who
scored 2 goals and then Owen grabbing the 3rd despite a valiant
effort from Kinnear to keep it out.
Both Managers will be pleased to have
got 45-60 minutes out of players at this early stage of pre season.
Harrison in particular will be delighted with his team going
forward. However, Gareth Thomas will be very encouraged by the
energy levels, and patterns of play throughout the game and will
also be very pleased with the defensive display containing the
experience and potent Lloyd Williams and Owen for 70 minutes.
Next 1st team fixture is at HOME to
Winsford United on Saturday 18th July with a 3pm Kick Off.
Special thanks to Stewart Roberts for

BTFC
5 - 3 St Helens Town AFC
Buckley Town were slow out of the blocks
in this opening pre season game against a lively and well organised
St Helens Town from the North West Counties League. Buckley Town
started with debuts for 10 of the starting 11 with a trialist making
up the starting line up. An early error by Aaron Kinnear making his
Town debut gifted St Helens an early lead and that was doubled after
9 minutes. Buckley soon after settled into a pattern of passing
football with John Leonard and Wes Brereton eventually getting on
top in the centre of midfield. Billy Webb, a new quality signing
from Colwyn Bay, quickly won a penalty back and picked himself up to
slot away his 1st Buckley goal. Webb looked lively during the first
45 minutes and more match sharpness should see him start the season
firing on all cylinders. Neil Wynne's pace and Dean Hardstaffe's
industrious work rate also caught the eye. A scrambled goal just
before half time evened the match up at 2-2.
1st Half Line Up: Aaron Kinnear, Ilya
Haycock, Gareth Edwards, Paul Connolly, Chris Johnson, Trialist,
John Leonard, Wes Brereton, Dean Hardstaffe, Billy Webb, Neil Wynne,
The second half saw a number of the
usual pre season changes with Ben McKean, Alec Stacey, Darren Horne
and 4 trialists getting a run out, Stacey in particular catching the
eye. Movement and passing was good from both sides on a fantastic
surface and 3 second half goals by trialists and a penalty for St
Helens concluded the scoring in a very entertaining game for the
supporters.
2nd Half Line Up: Aaron Kinnear,
Trialist, Ben McKean, Chris Johnson, Trialist, Wes Brereton, Alec
Stacey, Darren Horne, Dean Hardstaffe, Billy Webb, Trialist.
Final Score: Buckley Town FC 5-3 St.

Matty Roberts has re-signed after an
impressive campaign last year and another ex Buckley player has
re-signed - James Morton who has spent some time getting himself
extremely fit and is looking forward to enjoying another campaign at

BTFC in need of a new Programme Editor
Buckley Town FC is
looking for a new Programme Editor. Anyone interested in the
position should contact Stewart Roberts the Chairman of BTFC.........................More
Mike Robinson will now not join BTFC
After a
committee meeting held on Monday 29th June it was decided that the
form signed by Michael Robinson to play for Buckley Town this coming
season be torn up and not presented to the Cymru Alliance.
"Whilst
we are disappointed not to have gained Robinson for the forthcoming
season, the committee felt that rather than present the form to the
League Secretary, who in turn would according to the rules, probably
have had to charge the player with willingly signing two
registration forms and meaning a likely fine and suspension, we
would tear up the form and move on to players who want to play for
Buckley Town for the right reasons."
"We have
no issue with Ruthin Town Football Club and wish them and Robinson
all the best for the coming season."
"We
would remind players of the consequences of signing 2 forms at this
time of year - Fine and Suspensions are the likely outcome."
"Gareth
and Levi have spoken to a number of players that will strengthen the
current squad and as such we expect to announce more signings during
the course of this week."
All players, please make yourselves aware of the
rules regarding signing for a club in Wales before signing for any
adult club in the Principality
Bit of an issue
already this pre season. Michael Robinson from Ruthin Town has
apparently already signed for Ruthin Town on Sunday 21st
June prior to signing another form with us on Tuesday night after
training with us.
Stuart Roberts
received a
call from Adie Jones, the Ruthin Manager, stating that he had signed
Michael on Sunday. We now have to decide as a Club whether to
present the form to the league Secretary. Gareth Thomas has
confirmed to me that he signed Michael after our 1st
training session on Tuesday 23rd as the player had
expressed his wish to sign for Buckley Town.
A further
announcement with regard the Clubs decision on this will be
published on the website once a decision has been made.
In addition to the Nucleus of former
Mynydd Isa players that have already joined Buckley Town for the
coming season Manager Gareth Thomas has continued to add both youth
and experience.
Mike Robinson, a 20 year old Central
Midfielder, has joined from Ruthin Town where he has been a major
influence on Ruthin's resurgence under Adie Jones. `Robbo` has a
great `engine` and is accomplished with the ball, his physical
presence will have a great effect this coming season.
Chris Johnson, an experienced defender,
best known for his time at Llandudno Town but who has joined from
Denbigh Town can operate as a Centre Half or Full back and will
bring experience and leadership to the Squad.
Steve Thomas joins from Flint Town
United, another player who has been around for a few seasons,
turning in very impressive displays mainly as a Wing back, still has
youth on his side and will add pace and quality.
A number of deals have been agreed with
players and these will be announced as the paperwork is completed.
Buckley Town begins
New Season Planning
Following on from the arrival of Gareth
Thomas and Keith Davies from Mynydd Isa FC a number of last season’s
Isa Squad have made the Short Journey to Globe Way for the coming
season;
Re-Joining Buckley Town are Ben McKean,
Dean Hardstaff and Joey Desormeaux.
Other Players signing on the dotted line
from Isa are Stuart MacIntosh, Stuart Woods, Rees Darlington, Paul
Connolly, Joey Ouslem, Isa Captain John Leonard, Anthony Williams,
Neil Wynne, Barry Calder and Ilya Haycock who will link up with
Former Gap QP Manager Levi Lloyd. These players are the nucleus of
Thomas side that finished 4th last Season.
Joining the Club also is Mark Orme last
season Denbigh Town captain and Centre Half along with another
Centre Half Gareth Edwards from Upton AA.
A number of players have been spoken to,
including a number of last season’s Buckley Squad, the Management
team of Gareth Thomas, Levi Lloyd and Keith Davies have identified a
number of targets and spoken to players that will add additional
quality and experience, it is anticipated that more signings will be
announced early next week.
Pre Season Training begins next week and
it looks as though there will be heavy competition for places as
Thomas looks to find the right blend of players to cement their
Squad places come the start of the new Season.
Paul Dodd and Russ Moore are also
working extremely hard behind the scenes to create a Young and
Competitive Reserve / Youth Side for the coming season, Paul and
Russ have been asked to recruit the best youngsters available in the
Buckley / Flintshire Area in the 16-21 age group category,
development of players of this age will hopefully see Youngsters
forcing their way into the 1st team Squad over the season with 1st
team players adding experience to the Reserves and Youngsters to
help that process along.
Further news of arrivals and departures
will appear here as and when they happen......…
The Pre Season 'View from the Touchline'
New Manager Gareth Thomas has begun to
get his feet wet and started to prepare for the coming season. He
has agreed to keep the Website informed as he develops the squad, so
there will be regular posts here throughout the summer.
11/06/09
Over the last 3 weeks I have had
meeting's nearly every night in the week with various coaches,
players etc., to try and bring fresh blood into the club. The
following people have all agreed to join the club and there roles
within the club are as foolows:
Manager: Gareth Thomas
Assistant Manager: Levi Lloyd
Coach: Keith Davies
Goalkeeping Coach: Alan Tyrrell
The BTFC Reserves will be run by Russ
Moore and Paul Dodd.
At present we have 8 new players signed
and with more meeting's planned over the weekend I hope to have the
squad shaped before we start the pre season training sessions which
will commence on Tuesday 23rd June.
22/05/09
I must admit though I'm delighted to be
given the opportunity to manage Buckley Town, as I feel it's one of
the biggest clubs in the Flintshire area with a great set up where,
year on year, you always see improvements going on at the club.
Even though I'm busy at home, it hasn't
stopped me starting to shape the squad for the current season. At
present I must have spoken to around 30 plus players to see if they
are interested in coming to Buckley and making us a force to be
reckoned with. I am also in the final stages of appointing my back
room staff and completing the schedules for the pre season training.
I have spoken with a couple of last seasons squad but I think big
changes are needed on the playing side, as trust plays a big
part with me. When I looked at the discipline side last season, it
totally needs a complete overhaul. Also since the Christmas period
results where poor.
I hope you can be patient over the next
few weeks but already I have 12 guaranteed singings who I trust to
their word and some potential great additions to follow.
Looking forward to meeting up with
you all soon and getting introduced to everyone as I'm not the best
with names to faces. But rest assured whilst most people think the
season is at an end, I'm right in the middle of the hard work and
believe me when the season kicks off come August we'll have the
squad to compete for the league.
New additions to the Club
Buckley Town Football Club is pleased to
announce two new additions to the Club in the form of Levi Lloyd and
Tony Aldridge.
Levi Lloyd joins as Assistant Manager to
Gareth Thomas from Gap Connah’s Quay where he has been Youth Team
Manager, successfully guiding the Nomads U19s to North Wales Coast
Cup success along with a run to the Quarter final of the Welsh Youth
Cup. Prior to this Lloyd took Gap Queens Park to both League and
NEWFA Cup finals losing out to Bala Town narrowly in both games and
also had a fantastic run in the Welsh Cup where Park were beaten at
the Quarter Final Stage by Rhyl at Belle Vue.
Tony Aldridge joins after having a year
away from the local scene and will be welcomed back by many to a
Club in the Cymru Alliance. Aldridge’s professionalism and
Commercial Strengths will be invaluable in driving Buckley Town
forward. A former Cymru Alliance Committee Man, he is well respected
throughout the Cymru Alliance and indeed Welsh Football in general.
Aldridge was a Key figure in the steady rise of Mynydd Isa over the
last few years and will be reacquainted with former Isa Boss Gareth
Thomas at Globe Way.
Chairman Stewart Roberts commented “I am
delighted to have both Levi and Tony join us as we look to
strengthen the infrastructure at the Club. Both have fantastic
strengths that will only drive us forward on and off the field of
play."
"Having worked with Levi at Gap Queens
Park and the Nomads, I know exactly how much he will bring to the
Management team. He will give Gareth a different perspective on
things as we go into the season. The relationships Levi builds with
players will enhance team spirit from the word go, and his success
with the Youth players at Gap Connah’s Quay, that made it through to
their 1st team bodes well for youngsters joining Buckley Town FC.
With Levi’s contacts and Paul Dodd and Russ Moore’s coaching, I feel
our Youth / Reserves will be strong this coming season."
"I am delighted I have managed to get
Tony to the Club. He sees the potential at Buckley Town and if we
get half the service he gave Mynydd Isa in his time there, we will
be a better club for it. I tried to get Tony at each of the clubs I
have been at, because once he commits to a club he gives them
everything. With his commercial know how and knowledge of Welsh
Football, our quest for a domestic licence will be made easier.
"On behalf of the Buckley Town
Committee, I would like to welcome both Levi and Tony on board and
wish them every success in their efforts for Buckley Town."
Club announces who it's new
manager will be
Following
on from the departure of Manager Simon Sedgwick at the end of
season, Buckley Town Football Club are pleased to announce Gareth
Thomas as their new Manager. Gareth has had successful steady
progress at Mynydd Isa over the last few seasons culminating in a
top 4 finish and a NEWFA Cup Final this season. Gareth has played
and managed at various clubs including, Mynydd Isa, Holywell Town,
Llandudno, with spells at Halkyn United and Connah’s Quay.
Gareth
will be joined at Globe Way by Keith Davies as 1st team Coach and is
in the final stages of discussions to bring in a new Assistant
Manager. Gareth’s remit will be to gather momentum on the football
side to bring the Club to a platform ready for promotion after the
restructuring of the Welsh Pyramid System. Off the field the Club
will grow its infrastructure to ensure it gains a Domestic Licence
when we apply for it. The next few seasons are crucial for the
future plans of Buckley Town Football Club and the Committee agreed
that Gareth’s achievements, commitment, ambitions and contacts made
him an ideal choice to take the Club forward, along with the new
Assistant and Keith Davies. Gareth will be given all the support he
needs to ensure the Club achieves its goals.
The Club
would like to thank Simon Sedgwick for his efforts on behalf of the
Club.
The
Chairman, Committee, volunteers and supporters of Buckley Town

Chairman's reaction to the FAW
Council Super 10
announcement |
14.05.09
Chairman of Buckley Town FC Stewart
Roberts has spoken about his reaction to yesterday's announcement by
the FAW Council.
He said, "I
think the changes likely to happen will be for the good in general,
I am not convinced that 10 teams is the way forward for the Premier,
but is that because the FAW only feel that 10 clubs will meet
criteria by the time they go live with this?”
“I feel sorry for those clubs that have worked so
hard to maintain their top flight experience only to be told due to
re structure they are to be demoted. I am sure clubs will challenge
this from the top flight.”
“In terms of the Cymru Alliance, it will become a far
stronger, more professionally run division with a number of WP clubs
likely to become members come 2010/11 and if the ground criteria for
all Cymru Alliance clubs is improved as a result then all the
better. In effect, the Cymru Alliance becomes Welsh Premier Div 1
North/Mid in my opinion. What must be clear though are the
timescales and guidance from the governing body on exactly what a
Cymru Alliance club must do to be prepared to accept promotion as
soon as their League placing allows it. There cannot be any more
grey areas allowed going forward.”
“It looks at this moment in time that a number of WP
Clubs will enter the CA probably more than Welsh League South, so
the feeder league North/Mid will become better in terms of ground,
clubs, and structure with numerous clubs likely to quite quickly
meet the criteria for promotion. Will the same be said of the South?
They need to be as equal as possible in terms of criteria to ensure
that promotion and relegation do not become a farce year in year
out.”
“My other concern would be for the smaller clubs that
attain super 10 status, they will consistently be fighting
relegation year in year out, causing instability and fluctuating
budgets, etc. A 14 or 16 team top tier would have been better in my
opinion, with 3 relegated, winners of Cymru Alliance promoted,
winners of the Welsh League promoted and a play off system between
the 2nd Cymru Alliance and Welsh League clubs for a final spot.”
“In effect, just like when 1 player / 1 club came in,
players found and are continuing to find their level, the same will
be said of clubs when this re-structure commences. Clubs with
ambitions will ensure they meet the Domestic Licence and push
forward on the field of play to get that promotion. Clubs that don’t
show ambition will continue as normal and be happy to play at
whatever level the criteria allows them to. One thing is for sure I
do feel the feeder league North/Mid will become very strong.”
“Clubs in the Cymru Alliance will need to show quite
quickly their ambitions by bringing grounds into line with the
Domestic Licence Criteria, or face getting relegated into the Welsh
National, Welsh Alliance, or Mid Wales leagues, and the scramble for
a top 10 finish in the Cymru Alliance next season will be very
interesting indeed.”
